Blitz Blok 2.5 Planned, and in Progress

Blitz Blok 2.5 has been planned and set to hit iTunes sometime next month. This update is pretty huge, and will consist of cosmetic changes, additional graphical and audio content, a fix to the audio bug that stops all audio in newer firmwares, and a few interface fixes! Here is our current change log that's filed in our source code, and will be subject to change and additions as we work:
  • Audio is fully supported for all iPhone OS versions
  • The 3D background fades out in the title screen when a game is selected
  • Added a "LEVEL UP!" banner that is displayed when the player levels up
  • More sound effects added
  • More graphic content added (included 3D content)
  • Survival Mode is now known as "MODE: 1337"
  • Fullscreen glow added
  • Close Taps have a cool-down time, repealing the current rapid succession
  • Redesigned Close Taps graphic content
  • The "About" screen has been upgraded to a full "Instructions" screen
  • Changed the "Default" button
  • Added an alert when setting scores back to their defaults
  • Made default high scores reflect the game mode's difficulty
  • Blitz Klok Blitzen has been fully implemented
  • Blitz Rok Blitzen has been fully implemented
  • Only one Devastation blitzen can be dropped at one time
  • Guardian Blitzen was changed a bit (charges up, shoots, and moves up and down)
  • Life Support gauge flashes white when it absorbs energy particles
  • Devastation dispatches much faster (rate of growth, spin, and absorption is increased)
  • Changed Soul Savior Blitzen
  • Close Taps are fixed
  • Change text in the loading screen
  • Added black quad flooring to the bottom of the 3D background
  • Bloks spin in different directions
Of all the simple updates, the biggest will be the additional graphical and audio content as well as the new audio processing code to manage, and play audio resources. Many of you will notice that an online leaderboard system was not in the list. It is evident that a leaderboard system is definitely needed, and it will be added in future releases after this one. As soon as we get the gameplay solid, we will have an online leaderboard system fully implemented and viewable from both the Blitz Blok app and our site.
